When considering the relationship between learning analytics and Web 2.0 tools, it is important to understand that  learning analytics is a process that is concerned with analyzing the educational process.  Therefore, by doing so, improving the learning experience and the learning opportunities that our students partake in using web 2.0 tools.  With that said, learning analytics still offers a variety of feature that make it a web 2.0 technology.  With learning analytics students can collaborate with others to monitor their own student learning in relation to their peers.  The student can use learning analytics to reflect on their own progress, milestones, and successes using social networking sites such as twitter and facebook.  The learning management systems such as Schoology that use learning analytics allow students to interact with other on the site as a way to study together or use classmates to find difficult solutions.  This participation in the LMS is a part of the learning analytic process.  Other Web 2.0 tools that incorporate the use of learning analytics is Khan Academy and Compass Learning which are online educational software.  Math Space is a web 2.0 tool that uses analytics to give immediate feedbacks to students on their progress.
